SAM J. CHO, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Sam Jae Cho has 35+ years of oil and gas experience. He serves Texakor Energy Resources LLC as the CEO and is an Advisory Board Member for Echelon Engine Company. Sam also has experience as the Executive Vice President at P. E. Moseley & Associates Inc., he has taken many executive positions (Chief Technology Consultant, Chief Technical Solutions Officer, Sr. Technical Advisor, Sub-surface Team Leader, & Reservoir Engineer) with US 'Super Giant' Oil Companies including Gulf Oil, Chevron, Texaco, Shell, BP and other major independent Oil & Gas companies. He received his B.S. from the esteemed Seoul National University, M.S. in Petroleum Engineering and Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering and Energy & Mineral Resources from the world renown petroleum engineering program at University of Texas At Austin.

He has managed multidisciplinary consulting teams, set and provided reservoir engineering solutions, forged favorable mergers and acquisitions, valued assets in Shale Gas/Oil development strategy, implemented fracturing design, designed reservoir management solutions, created development opportunities and reviewed full field development. His work experiences include ensuring the most optimum development plan including IOR/EOR recommendations for an implementation strategy to deliver maximum value and profitability in his projects.  His three major achievements in his career are:

  • Created a fracturing design for Olmos and Eagle Ford to exceed a 1.7x higher multiplier resulting in recovery for a 12% EUR increase.
  • Led, managed, and achieved a production goal of 200,000 barrel/day in the Forcado Field, W. Africa.
  • Directed & discovered untapped oil fields of about 120 MM barrels in Eugene Islands, Gulf of Mexico 1991. Led and coordinated a multi-disciplinary team to develop the field $250 MM AFE for commercialization.

Among numerous nominations, he has been invited as a guest speaker for DUG Permian, delivered a distinguished key-note discussion for UKC, and he currently serves as an organizing committee chair for ISOPE/FERT and other local community functions.  

In his time off, he enjoys traveling, learning new languages, ballroom dancing with his wife, and winning money from his children in a game of golf.


ED BUTLER, MBA, P.E.

Mr. Ed Butler has 37 years of oil and gas industry experience and is the COO and Head of Business Development.

Prior to Texakor Energy Resources LLC., Mr. Butler was interim CFO and Sr. VP at Stonegate Production Company responsible for directing daily operations and the development of the company’s primary asset. This includes drilling, completion, production, infrastructure and reserve engineering.

Mr. Butler has held a variety of senior positions with P&L responsibility in finance, management, engineering, operations, project development and evaluation with TXO, Blocker Energy, Triad Energy, Echo Production, DevX Energy and CDX Gas. Mr. Butler served as CFO of CDX, LLC and engineered the sale of the company for $835 million in 2006.

Mr. Butler graduated with high honors with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M, magna cum laude, and has an MBA with honors from one of the top 25 business graduate programs, The University of Texas at Austin.


Brandon Cradeur CPA, Financial Advisory Board Mamber

Business Transformation Executive with a 21 year track record of successfully helping companies define and execute transformation and growth strategies, improve profitability, and increase shareholder value. During his career, he has worked in Private Equity, as a Partner of a Top 5 International Professional Services Firm, in Corporate Development of a Top 50 Fastest Growing Sales & Marketing company, and as a Company Executive in Energy. Including: (i) served on 15 boards for a variety of companies with an international footprint that generated, in aggregate, $1.2b of revenue, $110m EBITDA, and included a $700 million capex budget; (ii) worked on over 500 M&A transactions with a combined transaction value of $22 billion; (iii) Started two companies; and (iv) Launched multi-million dollar client service practices. Industry experience primarily includes oil and gas, engineering & construction, manufacturing, and healthcare.

Mr. Cradeur graduated with B.S. in Business from Louisiana State University, with Honors cum laude and has an Executive Certificate from Rice University: Jesse H Jones Graduate School of Management – Executive Certificate Program Enterprise Exchange. He has licensed Certified Public Accountant, in the State of Texas
